A FEW WORDS ON HABITS
Our first day back to school in Maryland started off with a snow day.
Has that ever happened to you?
You have all of these GREAT ideas for the New Year - fresh ideas and a calendar of new plans.
And then....whammo
SNOW DAY.  Or maybe it was COVID symptoms.  Or a flat tire.
Your best laid plans derailed before you really even get started.
Don't let one bad day change your attitude about the year!

THE KEY TO SUCCESS IS...
In my first blog of 2022, I have set a goal to re-start my habit of writing weekly blogs and most of these will be inspired from ideas that I have personally used from books that I love!  I'm starting it out with what I believe is the key to your success with any new goal you have this year.

LATEST PUBLICATION
Also, I am really excited to share that my chapter on Play Therapy Group Supervision was included in the new publication, Implementing  Play Therapy with Groups edited by Clair Mellenthin, Dr. Jessica Stone, and Dr. Robert Jason Grant.

I NEED YOUR HELP
I am working on a new project but
I need your help.
Do you have a favorite play therapy idiom ( a saying or an expression) that feels central to how to SPEAK as a play therapist?  We need them!
For this project we are looking for things from PLAY THERAPISTS only (so, no quotes from Plato, Fred Rogers, Bruce Perry, etc.)
Those are also really good, but just not the focus for today.
Think more about things you've learned directly from Dr. Landreth, Dr. Oaklander, Dr. Crenshaw, Lisa Dion, Paris Goodyear-Brown, etc.

WHAT I'M READING
People always ask me what I'm reading.  I stumbled upon this FABULOUS book by Jeffrey Davis called Tracking Wonder: Reclaiming a life of meaning and possibility in a world obsessed with productivity.
I think it's the perfect balance to Atomic Habits.  Get stuff done but also....enjoy the wonder in the world around you.  You can have both!

JEN'S JOURNAL PROMPT
Choose any line that resonates with you from this poem,
Ode to Habit by Samantha Reynolds (who btw, has a habit of writing a poem every day!) and write for five minutes.  If you get stuck, just re-write the chosen line until something comes to you.
