A TIME TO RUN AND A TIME TO REST
I DID IT!
Thank you to all of my last mile friends for your texts and messages!
They came in right on time and really did make a difference.
I will be sending message to the winner of the 30 minute strategy session this week.
But right now, it's REST.
You have to rest during and after all of your big dreams and projects.
Rest is part of the plan, always!
Without it, you get injured or burned out or angry/resentful.  Or, possibly worse, you focus on what isn't going well and forget the parts that are awesome along the way.
As Rick Hanson says, "the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones."
Take time to capture the positives throughout the journey

LEARN MORE ABOUT MAKING THE POSITIVE MEMORIES STICK
In the Journal to the Self workshop, you will learn how to make positive memories "stickier" through a specific journaling technique designed just for this practice! There is ONE spot left in the class that starts January 25th!

LEARN HOW TO REST AND RECOVER IN SAN DIEGO
There really is nothing more restful than a workshop on self-care and regulation led by Lisa Dion & Clair Mellenthin (and me!).  Yes, we are technically working, but this one is all about recovering well.  There's somatic breathwork, experiential arts, journaling and community building.  (And a boat!)

WHAT I'M READING
LEARN MORE ABOUT GETTING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Not all reading has to be long.  I was trying desperately to find an article that I thought I saved (which I did not find), but got this great reminder instead.  This short blog reminds us about the importance of getting outside of your comfort zone.  Read it to see HOW OFTEN it is recommended to do so - the findings might surprise you.
How are you stretching yourself right now?  Let me know!

JEN'S JOURNAL PROMPT

St
art looking for the messages
from people telling you how great you are
(it's okay to ask for them too, like I did this week)

Write them down on a post-it note with the persons name or initials and collect them in a jar, box or envelope.

Get "sticky" for the positive by making a point to gather these
testimonials to your greatness.
They really come in handy on the more challenging days!

*OR - send a few messages this week telling people in your life
how much you love and appreciate them!
Both ways work to help your brain
remember what is going well in your life.
