There's no flowers just yet, but this morning I noticed that the tulips that we planted in November have sprouted green leaves through the soil.
In a recent journal therapy class with one of the most amazing teachers I have ever known (Kay Adams), we learned about how our ideas move through stages
And she used the phrase
"Something is happening even when nothing is happening."
We plant seeds (or bulbs) and then we wait. And wait. And wait.
And just when you might be about to give up.
Something happens.
And here's the other thing - it can be really hard to be in this process if things are popping up all around you.
Just yesterday, we went to DC to see the cherry blossoms.
They are at peak bloom - just magnificent!
They're way ahead of the tulips!
But something is happening with the tulips even when it looks like nothing is happening.
And the same is true for all of us.
You might be a cherry blossom at your peak right now.
Or a tulip just popping through the soil.
You've changed your eating habits, but haven't seen a huge change in your clothes, yet? Something is happening.
You've spent time working on your novel but it's not ready for the world yet.
Something is happening.
You've set aside money to start planning your dream vacation but you don't have "enough" yet?
Something is happening.
Your time is coming.
Until then, we celebrate that they cherry blossoms were ready to shine.
