PAREIDOLIA
What's it called when you see animals or faces in the clouds or in nature or everyday objects?

Pareidolia

Pronounced par-i-DOH-lee-a

Is the human ability to see shapes or make pictures out of randomness
and/or
the tendency to perceive a specific, meaningful image in an ambiguous visual pattern.

This is especially easy to do in nature
and a great and playful EARTH DAY activity.

You've probably done this many times before
but never knew it had a cool name.

I was recently in a training with Pat Bernstein, founder of BLINK TO SEE,
who shared research on pareidolia in studies related to creativity, psychiatry, radiology/medical imaging, medical education, neurology and even regarding diagnosis of Lewy Body dementia.
Read more about that in the
PDF download on this page of her website.

This video helps you SEE examples of pareidolia.

For Earth Day, take a 5 minute break and enjoy the video,
consider taking a walk around your neighborhood
or stand outside and just look up.

What do you SEE around you?

What do you SEE?
What can you HEAR?
What can you SMELL?
What can you TOUCH and how does it feel?

What it is it like to just NOTICE what is around you?
