The days are long but the weeks are short
It's the end of another month - time to do the month-end review!

Why do I keep harping on this month-end review journaling exercise?

Because it is THAT powerful.
Here's what people say when about this exercise:

"I didn't realize HOW much actually happened this month."
"I kept thinking this month was just a hot mess, but when I went back, I realized that a lot of really good stuff happened too."
"It was fun to go back to look at the pictures - it helped me realize  how important it is to be grateful for everyone in my life."
"It was so much easier to spot the things that I wanted to focus on for the next month!"

I haven't fully completed mine yet...but I am starting to reflect and my first thoughts were 1) June was EXPENSIVE (travels, summer camp fees and a new septic tank) and 2) we were so BUSY (late nights, early mornings, lots and lots of activities).

See how our brains are sticky for the negative!

As I spend a bit more time looking at the entire month, what comes to mind for me is
FRIENDS: The month started and ended spending time with friends from lots of other places that I don't usually get to see.
FAMILY:  End of the school-year, that bucket-list vacation, soccer season, a ballet recital and my birthday by the water.
FIRSTS:  The launch of the Multicultural Play Therapy Ethics Training.  This training marks another milestone in the global partnership with Kenya APT.

I have a worksheet that will help you pull ALL of the stuff from June together into one place and capture it with a WORD that accurately portrays the month.

So for me, rather than EXPENSIVE which was my first thought, the actual word would be AWE-some, as in "filled with awe"

And then the final step is to set an intention for the next month.

How would you like to focus your time, energy and attention for the next 30 days???

Get the free worksheet by clicking the gold box.  And once you've completed it, I would love to hear the word that describes your June (and the intention for July)
POSSIBLE JULY INTENTIONS???

TWO CHANCES TO REGISTER
INTERNATIONAL ETHICS TRAINING
The first course happened last Friday and I think it went really well.  Registration is open now for the July 22nd date.  This course meets the criteria for live webinar as defined by APT and meets the social diversity requirement.  More importantly, it lays the foundation for our training in Kenya next summer and will be a required training for anyone planning to travel.

JEN'S JOURNAL
The month end review tool IS your journal prompt for the week.

But...sometimes people tell me that this feels too "Type A" -
it's too much "accounting" and feels like a chore.

If that is you...here is an alternative.

Don't review last month.

Instead, do something creative using that Springboard:

How would you like to focus your time, energy and attention for the next 30 days???

Spend a few minutes flipping through a magazine and seeing what words, images and colors catch your attention and make a collage.
Or, create a sandtray and build the world that you would like to spend time in next month.

Afterwards, you might choose to write a bit about the process and what you noticed.
