HOW WELL IS THAT GOING?

What feels like a million years ago, I made a meme. It doesn't have my name on it and most people never knew that it was mine.

But now a few people know and I was asked to re-share it this week.

So, I will  (down below). But first...

What I really love about the meme is the question

HOW WELL IS THAT GOING?

Often we do things out of habit, or peer-pressure, or lack of knowledge of an alternative.  We succumb to that dangerous phrase
"that's the way we've always done it."

Occasionally, it is helpful to step back and take an honest look at a situation and consider "how's that working for you?"

If the honest answer is "AWESOME!"  Keep doing it.

And if the honest answer is "NOT SO GREAT"  -  that is excellent information that you can use.  Find a mentor, find an accountability partner, find a resource and try something different.

But keep checking in and asking the question.

*For my play therapy friends, here's the image.  For those going to the annual conference - have so much fun!!!

Stop by and see Dr. Janet Courtney at her FirstPlay booth and ask her for a Jen Taylor Bookmark.  Use it for all the wonderful books (and book signings) that you grab this week :)

For those like me who are not able to make it this year, follow my Facebook page for a tribute to Dibs from my play therapy graduate students at University of Memphis.  They fell in love with play therapy for the first time this semester and I think their reflections are so meaningful.

But I will re-share the meme there today too.
PLAY WELL, MY FRIENDS.

**and look at that... it was not a million years ago - only S E V E N . ***

JEN'S JOURNAL
Choose one area of your personal or professional life and examine it using that question:

"How well is that going"

Write for five minutes and then read what you have written.  Add an additional sentence or two about a specific step you plan to take this week to reinforce what's going well or to take action on something that needs improvement.
