This weekend only, give yourself TIME and save MONEY
with my brand-new journaling course
JOURNAL THE YEAR 2023
50% until Monday at midnight.
This is a live journaling course meets one Monday a month and is designed to teach you all of the Journal to the Self exercises, practice the End of The Month Review (my favorite) and create a meaningful expressive arts activity during each 90 minute session.
And for therapists who need NBCC credits, I've got an add-on plan that provides 12 credits over the the course of 2023.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION: To help you with that monthly expressive arts activity, a stack of magazines is a good idea!
I noticed you can get 12 issues of Real Simple Magazine for $5 (for the whole year!) on Amazon. Scoop that one up for sure.
Also, Magazines.com has a 4 issues of Magnolia Magazine for $10
My creative and playful friend brought these markers to a conference last month and it was an instant #AddToCart for most of us.
This Storytelling Card deck from The Moth is my new favorite find!
Use these as journal prompts, as icebreakers, for family therapy or couples sessions. The prompts are great and the stories that get told are so interesting and fun!
What are you finding that is a must-have? Share your finds with me!
JEN'S JOURNAL
On the biggest shopping weekend of the year, our mind is on gifts - but we know from research that the best gifts are often experiences.
Here's a two part journal exercise:
PART 1: What was the best gift you ever received?
Capture the memory of that gift - from whom? what made it so special?
Spend 5 minutes reflecting and re-experiencing that special gift.
(I remember getting a money tree one year - it was a mini-Christmas tree with 100 $1 bills tied into bow shapes...so cool!)
PART 2: What is your favorite holiday experience?
What non-gift activities do you look forward to every year?
Spend 5 minutes reflecting on that and how you can be sure to include it in your plans this season.
(For example, my kids told me that driving around the neighborhood in their pajamas listening to Christmas music and looking at lights is their favorite holiday experience)
