A  Challenge for February
You have a week until February begins and I have a challenge for you.

Are you ready?

Pay attention to what people do best
and tell them about it more often.

And specifically, write it down!

Why?

Notes of appreciation are a mirror we can hold up to our colleagues to help them see their strengths.
- that's from an article in Harvard Business Review
by Whitney Johnson & Amy Humble

AND

According to a recent survey, "words of affirmation"
is the third-ranked of the five love languages
(quality time, physical touch, words of affirmation,
acts of service and then gifts)

PLUS

This expression of relationship gratitude is strongly associated with increasing your own happiness levels. But it also makes other people happy! Handwritten notes are becoming a lost art - so when you get one (in the actual mailbox) it is a real treat.

So here's your challenge:

The next time you are out shopping, grab a packet of those "thinking of you" cards.

Send four "love letters' during the month of February -
to friends, colleagues, or family members that you are really grateful for.

Tell people that you appreciate them
Tell them WHY they are so special to you.

And don't wait for a special occasion -
make it a regular practice throughout the year.

PS.
If you need my address....
😉
(Just kidding)

If you're not sure what to say...I've got some sentence stems for you down below as your weekly journal prompt.
JEN'S JOURNAL
Think about the people in your life that you are the most grateful for and write them a note of appreciation.

Dear ______,  I am remembering that time that you (did this thing) and I just wanted to tell you (how that impacted you, the writer).

Dear _________, I really appreciate that you (did what) because
(why that was meaningful to you).

Dear ___________,  I just wanted to let you know that I think you are (quality they have). I admire how you (do this thing) and it helps me (in this way).

After you have finished writing your letters, notice how you feel.

Write yourself a little note of appreciation too!

Dear -

You're so kind and thoughtful! Your friends and family really appreciate how positive and supportive you are.  I hope you have a really great day!  😙
